I am a running coach, with a focus on running becoming a part of your life’s journey, not the sole focus. Running provides a path to fitness, engagement, and community in a pretty special way, and I am really excited to help people along that path.
I will offer 5k, 10k, half marathon, and full marathon training sessions of different lengths. At our first meeting, we will discuss your current fitness and activity level, your goals or any goal races, what resources you have available, and the time you are able to devote to training. From there, we will determine which plan will work best for you, and get started! I highly recommend runners include cross- and strength-training into their workout regime, and I am able to help you figure out how to work that into a running schedule. Typically, we will meet once weekly at a track to determine your progress, work on form, do drills and speedwork, and give you an opportunity to ask any questions you may have. The only real requirement I have is that runners get fitted for quality shoes at a running store (be sure to check the return/exchange policy!) in order to avoid injury. They may be pricey, but good shoes are worth the investment! Other than that, all I ask is that you work hard, are honest about your goals and abilities, and try to have some fun! Running is supposed to add to your life, not detract from it!
